Privacy policy
Last updated . This policy explains what personal data Outliers collects, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who we are
Outliers is operated by Abeam ApS ("Outliers", "we", "us"), which is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Abeam ApS, Hasle Ringvej 25, 8210 Aarhus V, Denmark. Company registration number (CVR): 45741885. You can reach our privacy contact at mp@abeam.social.2. What we collect
We keep data collection to what the relationship actually requires:
When you contact us
Name, email, company, what the enquiry is about, and whatever you write in the message.
When you apply for membership
Name, email, company, role, city, links you share with us, and the answers in your application.
When you attend an event
Attendance, dietary requirements you tell us about, and photography where we have told you in advance.
When you visit this site
Our host keeps short lived server logs, including your IP address, for security and troubleshooting. We run no analytics and set no cookies of our own.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
We process personal data to answer enquiries, deliver our services, review membership applications, run events, and keep the site secure and working.
Our legal bases are performance of a contract, for client and membership relationships; legitimate interest, for responding to business enquiries and protecting the site; and consent, where we ask for it specifically, such as photography at an event. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to train models.
4. Who sees it
Data is available to the Outliers team members who need it, and to the service providers that run our tools on our behalf: Formspree, which delivers the messages sent from the contact form; Vercel, which hosts this site; and our email and document provider. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and may only use the data to provide the service.
Membership applications are reviewed only inside Outliers. What you say at an off the record event stays there. Sponsors and commercial partners never receive member or attendee details, and nothing about you is part of any sponsorship we sell.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last exchange. Client records are kept for the duration of the engagement plus the five years Danish bookkeeping rules require for anything with an invoice attached. Unsuccessful membership applications are deleted after twelve months unless you ask us to keep them on file.
7. Transfers outside the EU
Some of our providers, including Formspree and Vercel, are based in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area we rely on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision, and we keep a record of those transfers. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards in place.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it somewhere else. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Write to mp@abeam.social and we will answer within thirty days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, at datatilsynet.dk.
9. Changes to this policy
When we change anything material we update the date at the top of this page and, if the change affects you directly, we tell you by email. Earlier versions are available on request.
